It's a situation we've all been in: You're doing a little pre-Black Friday shopping at River Park Square, leave with an armful of purchases and can't remember where you parked in the garage. But for one Frankfurt man, the situation was taken to the extreme, when he discovered his missing car 20 years after he parked it in an industrial building's garage.
Back in 1997, the man reported his car stolen to police. Two decades later, authorities tracked down the missing car, only to discover it wasn't stolen at all and the man had just forgotten where he'd parked.
The car was found because the building where it had been parked was scheduled to be torn down and the old vehicle was in the way. Police were able to track down the owner, who's now 76 years old. According to the German regional newspaper Ausberger Allgemein police drove the man and his daughter to pick up the car.
Unfortunately, the car was no longer able to be driven, and was sent to the scrap heap.
