LONDON, ENGLAND-They met in an Internet chat room called "Kids the Light of Our Lives." But authorities in Britain say they were exchanging images of children being subjected to horrific sexual abuse.
By infiltrating the chat room, authorities were able to smash a global Internet pedophile ring. More than 700 suspects worldwide have been arrested, and 31 children rescued.
The ten-month investigation involved agencies from 35 countries. The investigation began last September after the arrest of the British host of the Web site, a man who used the online identity "Son of God." He's has admitted to possessing and distributing indecent images.
