Kootenai County Deputies: Alcohol-fueled argument leads to man stabbing friend in the chest

A 22-year-old Post Falls man is in the Kootenai County jail after deputies say he stabbed his friend in the chest Sunday night during an alcohol-fueled argument.

20-year-old Blake Minier called 911 Sunday night saying he had been stabbed by his friend, Austin Shultz during an argument. Minier told dispatch Schultz left the area on foot after stabbing him. Deputies located Schultz near Fernan Saddle and arrested him. Minier was located in his car and taken to Kootenai Health via Life Flight. At last check, Minier was listed in critical, but stable condition.

Schultz was booked into jail on one count of Aggravated Battery. Additional charges may be added in the coming days.
