Major Lodge Improvements Announced For Mt. Spokane

**Press Release from Mt. Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. - As part of the long range improvement plan for the Ski Area, Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park's Board of Directors and management staff are very proud to announce significant improvements to the mountain's Main Lodge during the summer of 2012.  Using capital generated from last season's revenues, and a generous allocation from Washington State Legislature's Supplemental Budget, improvements include a new 1200 square foot addition to the lodge and a new outdoor deck.  The lodge expansion will create additional seating for up to 100 people at any given time!  The design will pay homage to Mt. Spokane's history & natural resources.  A new deck will be constructed on this addition, allowing for spectating of action on the slopes, sunbathing in the spring, outdoor concerts and summer events.  Infrastructure improvements will be made as well, such as repairing the existing roof, upgrades to the Rental Shop area, and many other lodge enhancements.

Mountain Expansion Nearing End, Public Comments Needed

Mt. Spokane 2000 continues to actively pursue the terrain expansion on the backside of the mountain which will bring a new chairlift and seven new runs to the northwestern facing slopes.   The expansion plan was approved in concept, by the Washington State Parks & Recreation Commission in May 2011 and is currently undergoing a public comment period regarding the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement.  Mt. Spokane is requesting letters voicing the public's opinion of the expansion plan be sent to Randy Kline, Environmental Program Manager at Washington State Parks.  Comments may be emailed to before Tuesday, May 29th at 5:00pm, at which time the public comment period ends.
