Medical Examiner: Man who drove over High Drive embankment shot himself

UPDATE: October 24, 2018

The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man who went over the embankment at High Drive and 33rd this week as 36-year-old Robert Gregory. 

The Medical Examiner says Gregory died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Spokane Police say one person has died after driving over the embankment near High Drive and 33rd. 

The victim hasn't been identified. 

High Drive between 29th and 37th Avenue remained closed Monday at 5 p.m. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Police say it happened at 11 a.m. when the driver was headed northbound on High Drive and lost control of the vehicle. 

Firefighters say the vehicle rolled 300 feet down the bluff and became wedged between several trees.
