1 killed, 2 hurt in Montana crash involving police car

Two Moscow men were involved in a vehicle crash early Sunday Morning near Viola, with one of them being airlifted for medical treatment.

Idaho State Police say they were requested to assist Latah County with the crash around 2:35 a.m. Sunday near Saddle Ridge Rd.

23-year-old Thomas Redinger and 26-year-old William McDonough, both of Moscow, were traveling in a Jeep that left the roadway while negotiating a curve and crashed.

McDonough wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was initially transported to Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, but was later taken by air ambulance to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where his condition is unknown at this time.

Redinger was treated and released from Gritman. Redinger was wearing a seatbelt.

Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash and the investigation is ongoing.
