One Person Dead, Another Injured After Shooting In Kellogg

KELLOGG, Idaho - Right now the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office and Kellogg Police Dept. are investigating a suicide shooting that left one man dead and another injured early Wednesday morning in Kellogg, Idaho.

According to Kellogg Police, at about 3:30 a.m. Shoshone County deputies and Kellogg Police officers were dispatched to the Bunker Ave. overpass off I-90 in Kellogg for a shooting that occurred in a white 4-door vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers found the passenger deceased and the driver injured. Police say the passenger shot himself with a .40 caliber handgun, killing himself. The bullet then exited his body and struck the driver.

The driver of the vehicle is identified as Bryan Septer. The identity of the victim will not be release until next of kin is identified. Authorities have also confirmed with KHQ that the two were friends.

Kellogg Police Chief David Wuolle told KHQ's Chelsea Kopta he believes it's possible the bullet struck Septer in the spine because Septer told police he didn't have feeling in his legs.

The chief said Septer tried to drive himself to the Shoshone Co. Medical Center after he was shot, driving as far as he could before he couldn't feel his legs anymore and that's when he stopped on the overpass, near the hospital.

Chief Wuolle says Septer was alert but bleeding profusely. Authorities did not get a chance to interview him before he was airlifted to Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene where he is listed in 'fair' condition.

Right now police are still trying to figure out where the shooting occurred and why. They're hoping to get more information from Septer when he's released from hospital.

Chelsea Kopta reported on's NewsBreak that Septor is a cashier at the nearby "Gondolier" gas station right off of the Bunker Avenue exit along I-90. Previously he worked at the "Gondolier" in Wallace.

Employees told KHQ Septor is in his late 20s, a father, "a very good guy, and a hard worker."
