BOISE, Idaho- A Southwest Airlines flight full of Gonzaga fans coming home from Houston Texas was diverted to Boise Idaho when a strong odor of smoke filled the passenger cabin. Flight 1166 had 143 passengers onboard. According to representatives with Southwest Airlines, there was no visible smoke in the cockpit.
The flight landed safely and taxied to the gate under it's own power. Most of the people on Flight 1166 arrived in Spokane Monday evening but others are scheduled to arrive Tuesday morning.
Southwest Airlines says, 'The aircraft is out of service in Boise so mechanics can have a thorough look and sign-off before the aircraft returns to service.'
