North Spokane Zip Trip robbed at gunpoint

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho. - Police are searching for suspects in two failed robbery attempts in Coeur d'Alene Thursday night.

In the first robbery attempt, police say a 40-year-old woman was getting out of her car around 10 p.m. when a man grabbed a bank bag from her car and turned to leave. The woman says she kicked the man who fell, dropped the bag and then fled the scene.

That suspect is described as a male of average build, in his 20s, between 5'8" and 5'9" and wearing a red mask.

The second attempt happened a short time later at the Dollar Tree on Fruitland Avenue.

A clerk at the store told police a man came into the store, pointed a gun at her and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk called a manager to the front who was able to grab hold of the gun the suspect was holding.

After a brief struggle, the suspect  managed to break free and run from the store.

He is described as white male, about 5'6" with a very thin build. Police say he's in his 20s, has blue eyes, dark curly neck length hair and was wearing a black hoodie pulled over his head.

Anyone with information on either of these crimes is asked to call the Coeur d'Alene Police Department at 769-2320.
