Schweitzer opening November 18

"It's go time!" a press release from Schweitzer Mountain said on Friday.

Citing a "fabulous" November  for snowfall, the mountain announced the 2017/18 season for them will kick off on Saturday November 18, 2017.

“We’ve received 37 inches so far this month and with the temps staying below freezing on the mountain, we’ve been able to make snow as well,"  The long range La Nina forecast seems to be kicking in and that’s a perfect scenario for getting our skiers and riders back on the slopes.” Marketing Manager Dig Chrismer said.

The resort plans on limited operations and services Saturday & Sunday, November 18 & 19, with Musical Chairs and Basin Express Quad running from 9am-3:30pm. Adult full day lift tickets will be $45. The resort will close mid-week and reopen on Friday, November 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The resort will then suspend lift operations Nov 27-30 and recommence Friday, December 1 for the full 7 day a week operating schedule. Early season lodging discounts are also available with rooms at the Selkirk Lodge starting at $99 per night until November 30, 2017.

If you plan to head up to the mountain, you should note that the Schweitzer Cut-Off Road from Highway 95 is still closed at this time and the detour via Bronx Road is still in place.
