A Lewiston man wanted in connection with several car thefts and burglaries across Orofino over the last four months was arrested in Orofino Friday afternoon. Police say 24-year-old Jesse J.D. Walker had several warrants out for his arrest out of Nez Perce County.
Walker was taken into custody at gunpoint by members of the Orofino Police as well as members of the Clearwater County Sheriff's Department at around 2:15 p.m. Friday at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Johnson Avenue in Orofino.
Arrest warrants out of Nez Perce County charge Walker with numerous felony violations including multiple counts of grand theft and unlawful possession of a firearm, as well as receiving stolen property. He is now in the Clearwater County Jail with a bond set at $145,000.
Police say Walker is also a suspect in numerous stolen car and vehicle burglary cases in the Orofino area over the last four months. Additional charges are expected in those cases.
At the time of Walker's arrest, 50-year-old Marilyn K. Tyler of Orofino was also taken into custody and charged with resisting and obstructing an officer and harboring a felon. Tyler is being held in the Clearwater County Jail on no bond.
