The Thunder Rolls... And The Lightning Strikes
SPOKANE, Wash. - It started out as a beautiful sunny day....but as promised those clouds rolled in this afternoon ahead of our next series of storms.  Campers, hikers, boaters and beach goers listen up.
 
We will see scattered thunderstorms tonight....but it is tomorrow afternoon that we are really watching!  Right now, we are looking at what could be "severe" thunderstorms to roll in for tomorrow afternoon for the eastern third of Washington,  including Spokane and the NE Mountains....as well as the Idaho panhandle.  We could be sealing with large hail, damaging winds, heavy rainfall and potential flooding issues.
 
*FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR MOST OF WASHINGTON AND THE IDAHO PANHANDLE*  STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN ACROSS A LARGE PORTION OF EASTERN WASHINGTON AND THE IDAHO PANHANDLE.  POTENTIAL IMPACTS FROM HEAVY RAIN FROM THESE THUNDERSTORMS INCLUDE...URBAN FLOODING...RAPID RISES ON SMALL STREAMS...AND LAND SLIDES OR DEBRIS FLOWS IN MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN.
