UPDATE: Fire crews on the scene of a two-alarm apartment fire in North Spokane report two people have died Wednesday evening as a result of the fire. Crews on the scene say an adult woman and an adult man have died, but those people have not been identified.
A firefighter was injured while trying to save those two people. He was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane with second and third degree burns.
Spokane Police Department says a number of tenants in the complex were displaced as a result of the heavy water, smoke, and fire damage. Red Cross has responded to assist these tenants.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Spokane Police Department asks anyone who has information on the fire that has not already talked to investigators to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
Spokane firefighters are fighting a blaze at the Rosewood Club Apartments near E Magnesium Rd and N Hill N Dale St.
Roads in the area are blocked off, so please avoid the area.
KHQ's Katie Chen reports that fire crews have stopped forward progression of the fire Wednesday evening, however the scene is still active.
Fire crews report that one person was hurt in the fire. There is no word on that person's condition. A firefighter was also injured and taken to the hospital.
