2 high school students in Stevens County are lucky to be alive after falling 40 feet down a steep shale embankment. They were trying to chop down a 20 foot Christmas tree at the time of the accident.
It happened just before one Saturday afternoon on the 6550 block of Springdale Hunters Road in Hunters. Authorities say the two teens slid most of the way down the embankment full of sharp rocks. You can see the path of their fall by the marks on the embankment in the picture above. They were taken to Sacred Heart with non life threatening injuries.
