The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office says Elan Shedd, the boy who was taken by his biological father from his mother in Shoshone County back on August 23, has been found.
The Sheriff says Elan was located Saturday night in Amarillo, Texas. He was unharmed and is currently in the care of Texas Child Protective Services. Elan's mother is working on arrangements to bring him home.
The father, William Shedd was taken into custody on a Shoshone County warrant for Child Custody Interference, and remains in a Texas jail awaiting extradition back to Idaho.
The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office are searching for an 11-year-old boy who was taken by his biological father back on August 24th.
Deputies say they were contacted by the mother who said that she and her two sons were camping in the Bumblebee area and the biological father, 63-year-old William C. Shedd (pictured) came to visit them.
The mother says Shedd got into a verbal argument with the oldest son and got into his van with their younger son, 11-year-old Elan C. Shedd, and took off. William or Elan have not been seen or heard from since.
The reason we are just now hearing about this is because during the initial investigation, visitation and custodial rights could not be confirmed. However, an ongoing investigation establish probable cause to charge William Shedd with Custodial Interference. On September 19th, a felony arrest warrant was issued for William Shedd.
Shedd is a white adult, 5'6", 150 pounds with green eyes and white hair. He was last seen driving a white van with Idaho plates. He may also be going by the name Paul J. LeBrun, Craig Shedd, or William Shedd Sr.
The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office is working with the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children to get information out.
