UPDATE: One Dead In Officer-Involved Shooting In Colville

UPDATE: The Spokane Investigative Regional Response (SIRR) Team's investigation into the officer involved shooting that occurred last Saturday evening in Colville is progressing.

Stolen property, including a loaded handgun, was recovered from the hotel room where the incident occurred. The autopsy has been completed on the twenty-one year old suspect, Sean J. Bergstrasser.

The interview of Officer Spring has been completed. Officer Spring is an eleven-year veteran of the Colville Police Department and remains on paid administrative leave per department policy.

UPDATE: The victim killed has been identified as 21-year-old Sean J. Bergstrasser from Wasco, California. At this hour we're still awaiting the autopsy results.


COLVILLE, Wash. - An officer-involved shooting has left one person dead in Colville.

The Colville Police Department says they were called to Benny's Colville Inn at 915 S. Main Saturday night around 11:30pm for a vehicle prowling which ended with the suspect being shot and killed. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

The SIRR (Spokane Investigative Regional Response) team and Colville Police are investigating the incident.

The name of the person killed has not been released at this time.
