VIDEO: City of Lewiston crews discover, repair collapsed pipe under Bryden Canyon Road

A City crew was inspecting the stormwater pipe (CMP) under Bryden Canyon Road this month when they discovered that it

had fully collapsed.

This 19-year-old pipe was repaired immediately to make sure it did not create a sinkhole or other safety hazards on Bryden Canyon Road.

“There are over 24 miles of CMP pipe under our city streets providing stormwater drainage,” Engineering Project Supervisor Joe Kaufman said. “The TV inspector program is intended to gauge the condition of the pipes and find failures before they threaten streets with sink holes and/or cause homes to flood.”

The City’s Public Works Department would like to say thank you to everyone for putting up with the inconvenience of the reduced speed limit and closed lanes this month while they repaired the pipe.
