WATCH: Riverside basketball player with Down syndrome gets his time to shine

Take a minute to appreciate the good sportsmanship that was on display in Medical Lake on Saturday night.

During the game, Riverside gave their player, Logan, an opportunity to hit the hardwood. Logan has Down syndrome and looked eager to get out on the court. He hustled out and played some defense before his opportunity came to score for his team on the offensive side. A Medical Lake player handed the ball to Logan and he took off toward the basket.

He took his shot and missed. He got the ball back and missed again. At this point everyone on the floor and in the stands is pulling for Logan.

On his fourth attempt? Swish. Nothing but net.

And the crowd went wild.

Elizabeth Rosenbeck posted the video on Facebook Saturday night and wrote in part, "the true highlight was both teams working together to give this young man (I believe his name is Logan) an opportunity to play the game as well. I see this stuff in the internet all the time, but to witness it in person is indescribable."

Since she posted the video, it's gotten over 25,000 views and almost 700 shares.

KHQ's Joe McHale got the chance to meet Logan, who is teaching other basketball players the true meaning of sportsmanship.
