OTIS ORCHARDS, Wash. - According to the Spokane Valley Police Department Facebook page, deputies aren't sure exactly what time the crashed happened because there were no witnesses who have come forward.
The crash was first reported by a person passing by at 5:30 Thursday morning. Initial information indicates the driver left the area of Barker and Trent sometime between midnight and approximately 3:00 a.m. and traveled East on Wellesley.
The car crossed the center line onto the westbound shoulder and slid into a tree near Ashton.
The female driver was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash and was not wearing a seat belt
Investigators have not determined what caused the vehicle to cross the center line and crash, however, they believe speed and impairment may have been factors.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel.
Anyone with information regarding this incident, which again, is believed to have occurred sometime between midnight and 3:00 a.m. Thursday morning, is asked to call Detective Jeff Welton at 509-477-3237.

The crash happened near the intersection of Wellesley and Ashton. Details are limited at this time, but the car was found behind a tree and the woman driving has died, according to deputies on scene.
The intersection is closed down and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
