Billionaire Seahawks owner and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen made his largest-ever foray into congressional politics this year by donating $100,000 to a group seeking to keep Republicans in control of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Seattle Times reports that the June 14 donation, disclosed in July, went to Protect the House, a committee headed by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a California Republican.
SEATTLE (AP) - Three Seattle Seahawks players ran into the tunnel leading to the team's locker room prior to the national anthem on Thursday night. Defensive linemen Branden Jackson and Quinton Jefferson, and offensive lineman Duane Brown left the field following team introductions and before the start of the anthem. They returned to the sideline immediately after it concluded. All three were among a group of Seattle players that sat during the anthem last season.
RENTON, Wash. (AP) - The Seattle Seahawks have selected Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin in the fifth round of the NFL draft on Saturday. Griffin lost his left hand to amputation when he was younger, and became the feel-good story of the NFL draft.
KHQ.COM - In Seahawks news this morning, Pro Football Talk announced the team has made a change to its coaching staff moving forward. According to their report the team has fired offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. They say the team informed Bevell of their decision overnight. Bevell has been with the Seahawks for 7 years, and this season was the first time since Bevell's first year in Seattle that the Seahawks missed the playoffs.
