Computer Support Specialist

As a Computer Support Specialist, you will help drive KHQ’s computer and network infrastructure and user support endeavors in a dynamic 24x7 media delivery environment. Under KHQ’s umbrella, you will also coordinate with, lend support to, and help lead teams from multiple television stations in Eastern Washington and across Montana. You will report to the Director of IT and Engineering.

Duties:  Assist with the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and peripherals. Manage, create, and onboard new employees with appropriate systems accounts and permissions - Provide primary user support for KHQ and 2nd tier support for its sister stations. The Computer Support Specialist will share responsibility for emergency calls after business hours (weekdays 8AM – 5PM) 24x7x365 - As an influencer, determine, research, and recommend systems for purchase and implementation to the Director of IT and Engineering. Help execute systems installs and projects as directed.

Qualifications:  2+ years of hands on IT related experience in a professional setting - experience with repairing, server and desktop hardware - experience with Windows OS, Active Directory, MacOS, Hyper-V - experience in switching and routing infrastructure a plus.

News Director - KHQ

KHQ-TV, one of the leading NBC stations in America, is seeking an experienced, dynamic, engaging and creative leader  to be our next News Director. The News Director will be responsible for budgets, training, hiring, talent contracts, strategic  planning, and the station’s digital news content. The model news director will work closely with  promotion and sales, and should be engaged in building and developing a highly skilled, passionate  and empowered news room staff.  The news director should also possess a strong understanding of social media and its relationship to local news.

Creative Services Director

The Creative Services Director leads the station production team, collaborating with clients to produce effective on-air and website advertising. Conducts and oversees all aspects of the commercial process including, but not limited to, budgeting, research, writing, videography, and editing.  Interacts with in-house account executives as well as agency personnel. Maintains a positive relationship with clients and staff and works well under deadline pressure. Also collaborates with the Promotions Manager and News Director in creating viewer-generating on-air promos.  Responsible for Creative Services and News-Studio lighting and maintenance.  Coordinates FTP commercial traffic: Quality Control, work-flow, and in-house FTP server maintenance.

Qualifications:  2 years video production or Communications related experience.  Ability to communicate efficiently, and juggle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  Operative knowledge of Word and Excel.  Must be able to work both independently and also as a team player. Videography and Non-Linear editing skills required; After Effects and Photoshop experience a plus.
