UPDATE: Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Transported to Salt Lake City for Treatment

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Wade Palmer was taken to Salt Lake City for treatment after being critically wounded early Friday morning while searching for a shooting suspect. That suspect is now in custody.

Trooper Palmer was found still seat-belted in his patrol car with a gunshot wound. At last update, he is still in critical condition.

This video also includes video from 2014, when the actions of Trooper Palmer helped save the life of a woman and her two children who were hit by a semi-truck on a snowy day. Trooper Palmer was awarded the Medal of Valor for his heroic actions that day.
